AML and verification at Allbritish Casino
Every account on our platform sits inside a regulated framework. On this page we explain, in plain terms, how our anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures work, what we ask from you, when we ask for it, and what happens next.
Our anti-money laundering commitment
We operate under licence number MGA/B2C/211/2011, issued by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). Our parent company, L&L Europe Ltd, launched the casino in 2013, and since then every part of our operation has been subject to the MGA's Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism directives, together with Malta's Prevention of Money Laundering Regulations.
What this means for you in practice: we must know who holds each account, confirm that funds deposited with us come from a legitimate source, and report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities. These obligations are not optional for us, and they are what keep Allbritish Casino a safe place to play.
How Allbritish Casino verifies you
Verification runs in stages, and the trigger for each stage is fixed rather than discretionary. We check your basic details at registration, your identity before your first withdrawal, and your payment method ownership whenever the funding route needs confirming.
| Stage | Trigger | What we check |
|---|---|---|
| Registration | Account creation | Name, date of birth, address, contact details against internal and external databases |
| Identity check | Before your first withdrawal | Passport, driving licence or national ID card; proof of address dated within the last three months |
| Payment verification | When a deposit or withdrawal method is used | Card ownership, e-wallet account name or bank account holder, matched to your registered name |
| Enhanced checks | Thresholds or unusual activity | Source of funds and, where applicable, source of wealth |
Acceptable proof of address documents include a utility bill, a bank statement or an official government letter dated within the last three months. Mobile phone bills and printed screenshots are not accepted. For card verification we may ask for a photo of the card showing the last four digits and your name, with other numbers covered.

After submission you will receive email confirmation, and the outcome is also shown in your account. Documents submitted as clear, unedited photographs or PDF scans are almost always resolved first time. Blurred images, cropped edges or expired documents are the most common reasons for a request being returned.
- Upload your document through the secure verification page in your account area.
- We confirm your identity using a valid photo ID: passport, driving licence or national ID card.
- We confirm your address with a utility bill, bank statement or government letter dated within three months.
- We verify ownership of the payment method you used, if required.
- Our compliance team reviews the file, typically within 24 hours and no longer than 72 hours.
- You receive written confirmation once the check is complete.
When we ask about source of funds
A source of funds request is not an accusation, and it is not a barrier we set to delay your withdrawal. It is a regulatory obligation that applies to activity our monitoring flags as higher risk, or that crosses defined thresholds. The larger or more unusual the transaction pattern, the more likely we are to ask.
Typical triggers include deposits materially above your established playing pattern, a run of deposits in a short period, repeated deposits and withdrawals with little play in between, or cumulative deposits above a threshold set in our internal risk policy. When we ask, acceptable evidence includes payslips, pension or benefit statements, bank statements showing the funds used to deposit, a signed employment letter, dividend statements or a sale contract for a property or asset. We review what you send, then confirm in writing that the file is closed.
How we monitor your transactions
Every deposit and withdrawal on our platform passes automated screening plus, where flagged, manual review by the compliance team. One rule applies to all players: withdrawals are returned through the same method used to deposit, up to the amount deposited that way. Any surplus above that amount is paid to a bank account in your name. Card withdrawals take 1 to 3 business days, e-wallet withdrawals are processed within 24 hours of approval, and we charge no fees on either side.
| Limit | Amount or timeframe |
|---|---|
| Minimum deposit | £10 |
| Minimum withdrawal | £10 |
| Maximum withdrawal | £10,000 per day |
| E-wallet withdrawal time | Up to 24 hours after approval |
| Card and bank withdrawal time | 1 to 3 business days |
| Processing fees | None |
Monitoring also covers patterns rather than single transactions. Splitting one large deposit into smaller ones, moving funds between payment methods without playing, or activity that matches known typologies from the MGA's guidance will each prompt a review. If a pattern is explained by a simple fact, such as a holiday or a salary date, telling us early usually closes the matter the same day.
What happens if verification fails
If a document is missing, expired or unclear, we contact you by email and pause the withdrawal it relates to, not the whole account. Your deposited funds remain yours and remain withdrawable once the file is complete. If you do not respond within 30 days of our request, the verification request is closed and must be started again.
If verification fails outright, because the document does not match your registered details or the identity cannot be confirmed, we suspend the account pending resolution. Withdrawals are held, and we may refund deposits to the originating method after the source of those deposits has been confirmed. Where we identify fraudulent identity, third-party payment use or attempts to circumvent our controls, the account is closed, funds may be frozen, and the matter is reported to the MGA and, where required, to the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit.
How we store your documents
We keep verification records for five years after your account closes, or for five years from the date of an occasional transaction, whichever the MGA rules require. Retention is a legal obligation, not a commercial choice: the records must be available to the Malta Gaming Authority and the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit on request during an investigation.
All documents are held in encrypted storage with access restricted to trained compliance staff. No marketing, support or games team member can view your identity documents. We never sell or share verification data with third parties, and we only disclose it where a legal authority compels us to.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does verification take at Allbritish Casino?
Most files are reviewed within 24 hours, and the maximum is 72 hours. Clear, unedited photos or PDF scans of valid documents are normally approved first time.
Can I withdraw before verification is complete?
No. Identity verification is completed before your first withdrawal, as required by our MGA licence. Once approved, withdrawals to e-wallets take up to 24 hours and to cards 1 to 3 business days.
Why do you need a bank statement for source of funds?
We must confirm that the money you deposit comes from a legitimate source. A bank statement, payslip or pension statement showing the funds used is usually sufficient, and the request closes once we review it.
Do I have to verify my payment method if I used Paysafecard?
Paysafecard deposits are refunded to a bank account in your name rather than back to the voucher, so we verify that bank account instead of the original payment method.
